Feliz Páscoa e Feliz Pesach a todos! Neste ano esses feriados cristão e judaico serão celebrados na mesma semana. Bom motivo para pensarmos sobre a possibilidade de renovação e renascimento e também sobre a etimologia dessas palavras, ou seja, sobre o nascimento das palavras. Que tal?
Easter (Páscoa em inglês) deriva de Eostre, deusa anglo-saxã da primavera, associada a símbolos de procriação, como os ovos e coelhos usados pelo comércio para representar a data.
Já a palavra Páscoa vem do hebraico pesach pelo grego, páscha, e significa passagem. Os cristãos celebram a ressurreição de Cristo no domingo de Páscoa, ou seja, a passagem de Cristo da morte para a vida eterna.
Pesach também deu origem a Passover em inglês, que é o nome dado à celebração da fuga dos judeus do Egito, liderados por Moisés. Em inglês,podemos nos referir a esse feriado como Passover (Pesach), ou seja, com a mesma palavra que deu origem à palavra Páscoa dos cristãos.
Páscoa é ressureição...
É renascimento...
É renovação.
